The ask
Sneak Peek, 2019: Zomato wanted restaurants to tell their own stories inside the app, at a scale that covered India. 2023: a call on a Tuesday, Season 2 of Deepinder Goyal's podcast had to start now. 2025: thirteen films, each with its own look, in three shoot days.
What we made
Sneak Peek ran as a joint property. Zomato's sales teams brought the restaurants; we ran production with a 30-person crew, a central team for strategy and regional units for speed, scripts aligned with Zomato's writers. Founder interviews, food, stop-motion GIFs. For the podcast we turned a Gurugram office into a studio in 72 hours, part rented, part bought, and trained their team until they could run it alone by episode four. For the thirteen films we built thirteen sets, wardrobes and food styles across restaurants in Hyderabad and Calcutta: eight restaurant commercials and five dish films, 20 seconds each.
What happened
Over 1,600 Sneak Peek films in the first year, after which we helped Zomato bring the model in-house. The podcast is still running; they still call when something breaks. The thirteen films became 260 seconds of content across Zomato's channels.
